Your baby is constantly trying to communicate with you and responding to them is an important part of your baby’s development.

It might be hard to understand these signals at first but with some practice, you will be able to catch these signals at once. Here is a list of baby signals and what they might mean:

BabyTime

  • “Feed me”
    •  Sucking Noises
    •  Rooting
  • “Time to Play”
    • Big, sparkling eyes
    • Looking straight at you while making a “o” shape with her mouth
    • Moving about while reaching out at you
    • Holding your finger
    • Making eye contact
  • “Let’s take a break”
    • Looking away
    • Turning head away
    • Kicking and Squirming
    • Arching back
    • Yawning
    • Raising eyebrows
  • “I want to sleep now”
    • Yawning
    • Being still and quiet
    • Jerky movements
    • Clenching fists
    • Losing interest to things

Missing these subtle signals and your baby begins to cry, it’ll be harder to calm her down. But if you consistently track these signals and figure out her pattern, you may be able to avoid this situation or at least be able to know the reason your baby is upset.

Thanks for the information, it makes a lot more sense now. As a mom of a week old baby, I still have lots to learn!
